About Ted's Moving

Hello and welcome to Ted's Moving! I am an active duty Air Force veteran, and LOVE helping individuals, families, and businesses move when not serving as a current member of the National Guard. I have performed over 10,000 moves to date. My emphasis is on friendliness, professionalism, flexibility, reliability, and quality. We encourage customers to use Ted's Moving for moving labor and other related services.

We specialize in several aspects of residential and small business logistics, including labor-only services for a truck, trailer, or POD that the customer provides, office moves, craigslist/misc deliveries, motorcycle transfers, and specialty item handling such as pianos, organs, antiques, and other items requiring extreme attention to detail.

We take great pride in everything we do and promise to treat your belongings as if they were our own. We are based out of the Charlotte, NC area but travel to all lower 48 states. I want to make your move a success!

Ted's Moving was founded in 2006. As a child, I moved 20 times before graduating from high school. I was tasked with taping boxes and helping my dad carry furniture move after move after move. After joining the military and completing six additional DITY (do-it-yourself) moves, 50+ moves for family and friends, and becoming a Tetris master (self-proclaimed), it became obvious that it was time to start providing moving services to the local area. Thanks to the surprising inability of most movers to show up, not break anything, and not steal that which does not belong to them, the business thrived, and my hobby quickly became my life.

Since conception, I have learned a lot about the moving industry, gained massive amounts of experience, and met many wonderful people along the way. "Every day an adventure" is one of the long-standing company motto's, and it holds true to this day. An exemplary system of transportation logistics and management was created - using cutting edge equipment and organizational systems.

Ted's Moving currently employs a staff comprised of Active-Duty military members, veterans, and civilian personnel who believe in a strong work ethic and high standards of quality service.

We primarily service Charlotte, NC, and surrounding areas up to a 100-mile radius, though we travel nationwide on a regular basis to serve our clients across the continental United States. OUR LOCAL RATES

$30/hr per mover
$100 Flat Travel Fee – starting rate; dependent on distance and manpower traveling
$50 Flat Pickup Truck Fee – to use our pickup truck for moving purposes in addition to the travel fee
$200 Flat Pickup Truck with 16'x7' Enclosed Trailer Fee – starting rate; dependent on distance and manpower traveling

Ted's Moving does not rent box trucks, nor do we get involved in the rental process
Ted's Moving offers consistently reliable customer service and a 100% arrival record. As I perform every move personally, I do not handle ANY business over the phone to both focus on the customer I am helping currently and to protect both myself and my clients from misunderstandings. Following submission of the Contact Form, all future communication will take place via email, which allows for quick reference to any information exchanged.
I usually never meet customers until the day I come to move them. I am a small company, with a goal of keeping prices reasonable and quality extremely high. I am at every move personally, and an average of 600-750 moves every year. I am also the only one performing advertising and customer service duties. In other words, I do not have time to waste on in-home estimates - that is why my Contact Form is so detailed and prior to replying, I view pictures of every address involved online, inside and out; and armed with all of this information, my quotes are just as good as me being there in person. This saves me time and money, which in turn saves my customers time and money. If a customer really desires an in-home consultation, I can provide one for $100 flat if availability allows, due at the time of the consult and includes up to one hour of guidance and discussion.
